About

Lobster Place is a seafood experience like no other. Inside our Chelsea Market
space you’ll find a top-notch fresh seafood counter, raw bar, sushi bar and fresh
steamed lobsters to stay or to go – not to mention our Michelin-acclaimed
Cull and Pistol Oyster Bar. We’ve been pioneering unique seafood experiences
since 1974 when we first brought live lobster to NYC directly from the Maine coast –
and a visit to our Chelsea Market outlet will show you the latest unforgettable
chapter in that 45+ year story. And while you're in the neighborhood, don't forget to
check out our latest outpost, The Galley, located at Pier 57.

For a little “taste” of what’s in-store at Chelsea Market – take a virtual tour or give us 90 seconds to check out this video...you won't regret it : )

Stewardship

We’ve thrived through 2 generations of family ownership because of our commitment to being good stewards
of our community, our resources, and the environment. We’ve partnered with the organizations below to
achieve our goals for a sustainable seafood resource and a clean, resilient environment.

BOP Shell Collection Program, collecting shells from over 70 NYC restaurants and markets, including the Lobster Place Seafood Market which
donates 1,500 lbs. of oyster shells each week, making it one of the program's largest partners.
